   ► Типично голливудское развлекательное кино без примеси авторского подхода. Цель одна: максимальная зрелищность. Именно подобными фильмами Голливуд установил господство над зрителями всего мира. Основные характеристики: изобилие перипетий, пластическая пышность (с огромной тщательностью выполненные костюмы, декорации, экстерьеры, добавьте сюда огромный талант Расселла Метти); глубинный юмор (особенно в той сцене, когда принцесса умоляет крестоносцев больше не помогать ей). И, наконец, фильмы этого жанра обращались к детскому сознанию зрителей, стимулируя их воображение.
